Our accommodation is conveniently located within easy access of the Wangaratta central business district, acclaimed wineries and providores in Milawa, Rutherglen, Beechworth, and The King Valley, convenient to the winter snowfields and historic Glenrowan as well as Wangaratta’s walking and cycling tracks, stunning Ovens River, cultural precinct, restaurants, cafes and specialty stores.
Beechworth
Beechworth represents the history of gold mining in Victoria, but it’s also closely associated with Ned Kelly and his gang. It has museums commemorating both of these links, as well as galleries and an array of speciality stores and providers.
Rutherglen
A mere half hour’s drive from Wangaratta, Rutherglen is the hub of Australia’s oldest wine-growing region. Another old gold-rush town, Rutherglen’s determination to preserve its heritage makes it a richly rewarding destination for visitors.
King Valley
King Valley, just half an hour from Wangaratta, has a long history of Chinese and Italian migration, but more recently, it’s the vines brought from Italy that have earned it the moniker “a little slice of Italy”.
Glenrowan
Needing no introduction as the site of Ned Kelly’s last stand, Glenrowan deserves equal fame for its full-bodied reds, fragrant whites and delicious fortified wines. The sweeping views from the Warby Ranges over Lake Mokoan are a rich reward for bushwalkers and birdwatchers.
Milawa Gourmet Region
It’s a bold town that claims the title “Gourmet Region”, but Milawa more than lives up to its promise. Browns Family Wine Group have their famous Epicurean Centre, and a cluster of nearby family owned businesses produce cheese, olives, mustard and, of course, wine. Milawa Gourmet Region is right on Wangaratta’s doorstep.

The largest wetlands restoration project in the Southern Hemisphere, the Winton Wetlands brings people, groups and communities together to renew themselves, the landscape and their passion for the great outdoors located in north east Victoria.
